David Castro began his acting career at age 5, when he landed a principal role in a national Nickelodeon spot. Since then, David transitioned into film and television, accumulating an impressive list of credits.
Castro is most well-known for portraying the role of “Raphael Santiago” in a multi-season recurring arc on Freeform’s mega-hit, SHADOWHUNTERS. David has also recurred on TBS’ ARE WE THERE YET, and appeared in a guest lead role on CBS’ BLUE BLOODS. He also booked a series regular role in the CBS pilot, THE RED ZONE, and played Hailee Stienfield’s boy Crush in the Nickelodeon pilot “Summer Camp”.
No stranger to the big screen, David made his feature film debut in Todd Solondz’s Indy PALINDROMES. He also shared the screen with Shia LaBeouf and Robert Downey Jr. in Dito Montiel’s independent feature, A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS. Additional film credits include supporting roles in Salvatore Stabile’s WHERE GOD LEFT HIS SHOES, in which he was nominated for an Imagine award. Diane Crespo’s ARRANGED, Anne Fletcher’s FOX 2000 hit; 27 DRESSES, Franc Reyes’ THE MINISTERS, William Wedig’s FORGED, Fro Rojas’ TIO PAPI and Alfredo Rodriguez de Villa’s FUGLY, The lead in Agustin Castaneda’s independent feature, RUTA MADRE as Heartbroken singer Daniel. In 2020 he can be seen in “God Friended Me” as Private Joesph Martinez.
